Thomas and Ann Picard made the trek from Tucson
to do the Terminator trails. We met up with my friend Ken and
headed out to Table Mesa Road. At the meeting spot we met up with another
group of wheelers led by Mr. Ed. They were heading out to do the same
trails and let us go in front . We did both trails in 3 hours.

The normally dry river bottom was full of water. We though about crossing it but after tossing a few rocks in it sounded deep and I knew the bottom was really soft sand. If the water hadn't smelt so bad I might have tried a crossing....

Near the start of Lower Terminator

This is the bypass to an section of the trail that isn't very friendly to short wheelbase vehicles. It's basically a narrow section of trail that tips you towards the canyon wall. The bypass is pretty exciting as well.

Ken going up the bypass.

And down the other side.

Lower Terminator, near a burned out Toyota. This little section makes you drive through a rocky area zigging around the rocks.

Power steering would have been really nice in this section.

Tom navigating the obstacle.

We thought this area would give Ken more trouble than it did. He got hung up once but a little throttle pivoted the Jeep on its nerf bar and he was moving again..

Mr Ed took the hardest line on this obstacle. The burned out Toyota is behind him. He almost went over a few seconds after I took this photo. I think he was having too much fun.
