March 2001 - Lower Firebird (Tax Collector)

Due to some technical difficulties the day before I was riding with Dave King for this trail. The first picture shows what was left of my inner wheel bearing when I got home from a run the previous day. Looks like the bearing was running dry for a while. It caused the spindle to start wobbling which jammed my brake pad between the caliper and rotor. Notice the big grove on the back of the rotor (the one on the right is still good).
Dave, Darrell, Jim wells, and Jim Kawa all met up near the start of Lower Firebird, we soon learned it was also know as Tax Collector. A couple of Pinz's drove by while everyone was airing down their tires.
We hit the trail but got caught behind a group from the AZ Virtual Jeep club.
