September 2001 - Powerline Trail

The 10th annual Rocks, Rocks and more Rocks run was held just east of Superior. It followed some of the Powerline trail out near Devil's Canyon.
At the drivers meeting before the run we sang a few songs, passed out some flags and had a moment of silence to honor the victims of Tuesdays terrorist attacks.
The trail always looks different when you have people following you :) Gary got his wrong turn out of the way early in the run, we doubled back and took the other left.
We started from the Oak Flats Campground. Shortly after the gate the trail descends into a valley.
The other way down into the valley is a really steep hill composed of solid rock. The group was going to loop back and exit via this same trail.
