At the start of Axle
Alley we stopped for a lunch break and I checked over my rig for
loose bolts. I think it was about 11:30 before we started up
the trail.

This is the last climb
on Axel Alley and the only one I hadn't been able to climb
previously. After two second gear, flog the squirrel attempts
my rig started to climb but my motor bogged down and stalled.
I was able to then re-start it, put it in first and easy up the
face. The previous night I had had welded a piece of steel
just in front of where my t-case mount is welded to the underside of
the frame rail. This spot had hung me up before but by
grinding the steel piece into a wedge shape I had hoped it would now
ramp up and over the ledge, It appeared to have worked.

Brian also made it
unassisted.

Overdose is a pretty
long drive from Axle Alley. This trail is pretty short and
contained the one obstacle that nearly stopped us. I had
climbed this beg ledged before but now there was mud at the
top. I tried it a few times with no luck, looked for a winch
point but found none.

Brian tried giving me
a push with his rig but his push bar ended up over my cage so in
effect he held me down. We finally got my rig up with heavy
use of the throttle and two guys pushing on the rear tubing and
eventually the rear axle as the rig clawed it's way up the face.

We did the same for
Brian and moved on to the last trail, Bad Medicine.

I had never run this
trail so we took a little extra time making sure we were on the
right one. I knew there was a large waterfall/chute at the
end.

Which we eventually
found and climb to the top. We headed back to Lower Woodpecker
were we had started a little after 8am. Our clock showed
2:33pm, roughly 6 and a half hours. I ran Erik back to his
motor home so he could get home and catch some time with his in-laws
who had come in the night before. Brian was heading home as
well so I headed back out to see if I could find the other guys and
get some pictures. I drove out to Axle Alley and Overdose but
didn't see anyone. With the sun going down and my hands
starting to get cold I headed back to camp and started a fire.
The gang eventually started trickling in.

Since most of us lived
on the westside we decided to try and beat the freeway closures and
head home. the above shot is the sunset, here's a link to the full
