I tried some new picture taking techniques on yesterdays night run. Typically I would just use the flash which worked but it usually resulted in lifeless images devoid of the shadows and lighting effects that make night runs a whole new 4 wheeling experience. I knew a lot of my pictures wouldn't turn out, so I took a lot, just kept snapping. Basically I disabled the flash and braced the camera against a rock or other solid object every time I took a picture. Since the exposure time could take up to a few seconds I also tried to snap shots when there was no movement. I am pretty happy with the results.

Our group got underway just as the sun went down around 8:30 pm. The temperature dropped from 100 down to a cool 70-80 degrees quickly.
This wash trail winds its way up a valley with a great view of Phoenix as a backdrop.
