Jack pretty much went hammer down from the bottom to the top in one smooth motion.

This was a really nasty optional obstacle.  Mark was hitting it in second gear trying to get the back end to grab, he nearly made it once but the motor died just as he got to the top.

One more try and he nailed it.

Jack was up next and he didn't hold back, you can see how close he was to climbing it.  Not shown is all the wheel hop which caused the carnage pictured below.

It looked like the u-joint bound up, destroying the ears on the drive shaft and somewhere along the way shattering the u-joint.  Jack had a spare shaft back at camp.

Pat had some fun coming over this obstacle.  The rear end of his truck came up pretty quick, the only thing stopping him from going over was the rock to his drivers side and it looked like the rock moved a bit on impact.

There are quite a few more climbs and descents that I didn't get pictures of.  The last climb out of Aliens looked deceptively easy but after a few attempts by Mark we heard a pop.  As he was backing off the obstacle I noticed his hub rolling around inside of his rim.  All 6 mounting studs and the two dowel pins had been sheared.  Worse yet we didn't see any signs of the missing studs, cone washers or nuts which would be needed for a repair if we had an extra wheel hub back at camp.  Turns out we didn't have an extra wheel hub and we were unable to extract the broken studs form Marks's existing wheel hub.  The last alternative was to weld the locking hub to the wheel hub.  As you can see that's what we did and it held up great.

A shot of the camping area.  It is very primitive, no running water but there is a small water tank nearby and a port-o-john is provided for restroom facilities.
