February 2004 - BTG Log Corral
Run - Page 2

At one point we got a ways ahead
of the stockers. Jay had stopped and turned around to check on there
progress. While driving back down the trail he managed to hit a large
boulder, his rig came to an immediate stop and the force from the impact ripped
the driver's side steering arm right out of the knuckle (as shown by the
pictures Jay took above). When the rest of the guys caught up with
us they said Jay and Matt were heading back to the trailers to collect a spare
knuckle and would head out after the repair. We continued on with 8 rigs.

There were lots of new, deep ruts
to avoid as we made our way to the top of the hill that overlooks Bartlett Lake.

The big Ford got caught in one of
the 4 foot deep ruts in this narrow section.

It took some digging and 3 winches
to get it to budge!

We arrived down by the lake later
than we had hoped. Here's the tent city going up.

I stitched together this panoramic
shot which shows the campground and some of the rock formations nearby.
later in the year this would typically be underwater.
