11-6-05 Marathon
These pictures are from the Undertaker's Marathon. On Saturday they ran 8 trails in Florence Junction and then on Sunday everyone who survived Saturday was supposed to run 8 trails out by Table Mesa. The Florence trails are easily done in a day but I'll be interested to hear if anyone completed the 8 out by Table Mesa as they are quite a bit harder.
The first thing we did on Sunday morning was watch a bunch of guys run Twisted. The entrance was dug out by the rains so it is no longer flat.
The new sheet metal scars are courtesy of Twisted.
The notch on the main waterfall is also much deeper now .
Scott and Jack were running in the Marathon this year. They finished up the Florence trails in a few hours the previous day. Here's a short video of Jack making easy work of the entrance to Twisted.
While short, this trail is still one of the toughest in Arizona because there is only one line.
Craig coming up thru the entrance.
Scott made a a perfect run up the waterfall and thru the notch and I got it all on video.
Jack was up next.
Craig was tail end.
We all headed back to the rigs and decided to run up Collateral Damage before heading over to Annihilator.
The center notch was tricky for some of us since it is dug out a little deeper. The rigs with sticky BFG Krawlers made the climb look easier. We found the old line didn't work and now you had to get the passenger side tire to climb the wall first.
