No t-shirts and jeans for this years MLK
run. A cold front moved in on Thursday night and the daytime temperatures
dropped down into the 50's. A mix of light rain and/or wind throughout the
weekend made for some chilly wheeling. Despite the rain we kicked off
Friday morning with a short run down Bushmaster, up Suzy's Choice and then some
messing around on the rock piles down by the river. At this time there
were just 3 of us in camp, myself, Barry and Tom from Tahoe.

By mid afternoon Nolan had arrived from
Mississippi and Jim from Texas, so we collected most of the club and headed off
to run Raider Nation. The first crack gave Jay some trouble.

Scott straddles the crack.

Nolan trying to bypass the crack.

One of the first ledges on this trail. This
one required a bump from everyone except Scott who somehow found a line that let
him walk it.

An off camber notch towards the middle of the
trail. Barry ended up breaking his front drive shaft here and I ran back
to camp to fetch his spare. driving down the falls was pretty exciting, I drove
on the front wheels for several feet after coming off the first fall and the
crack near the start of the trail.

The last climb is a good one, once you make it up
you have to navigate around some good sized boulders before making it to the
top.
