This weekends trip was a backtracking of a run I first did back in 2001.
Back then we started at the Wild Horse West at 99th and the Carefree Highway and
ended up at Table Mesa Road.

This time we started at Table Mesa Road, leaving the parking lot at roughly
7:05am.

We made it back to the Tip Top mine in just under an hour which is really
good time but there were only two of us, Ron with his family and myself with my
son.

We took an old road leading west just past this windmill, road is just south
of Gold Hill.

This section of road was very brushy and washed out in a few places. A
stock rig would have had some fun, with a single locker it wasn't bad.

We passed one side by side coming the opposite direction, an early morning
hunting party.

Looking back towards Gold Hill.

A scenic view on an unnamed mountain top that overlooks Tule Creek. the large
looking wash in the background is Humbug Creek.

Leaving the peaks.
A 1600 x 1200 version of this picture is located in the 2008 Hall of Fame.

A wild burro (or at least I think it was wild, we weren't close enough to see
if it had any tattoos).

Making our way back towards the west side of Lake Pleasant.

Amazingly after 7 years the little stacks of rocks I had placed to remind me
of the turns were still there although I should have taken the left fork.

We made it back to pavement at 11:30am and had some lunch at the Wild Horse
before parting ways. Thanks to Ron & Family for tagging along.
