Three of us headed out on Saturday morning to do some exploring near Lake
Pleasant, we ran a loop on a series of mining roads. We found a lot of the
older roads and even the main road were pretty washed out by the recent rains.
There were a few times I had to take a guess at where the road was.
Here's a link to some pictures Dave took on the run.

We found a pretty cool canyon that reminded me of Box Canyon in Florence
Junction.

The first picture above is from a section of really narrow switchbacks.
Jim was right at home in his Suzuki but both Dave and I were kept on our toes in
our wider Jeeps. I'd pass on this road if I owned a full-size.

I got stuck on this section when the road crumbled away setting my rig on
it's rear differential. I hooked up the winch and was moving again in a
few minutes.

One of many muddy spots on the trail, this one was pretty deep.

Even the main road still had water flowing down it. When we started the
day there were no clouds in the sky but by this time the clouds had started to
build and darken.

We decided to see if we could get down to the lake to cool off and as you can
see the dark clouds were following us.

After trying a few wrong turns we found a road that took us to Humbug Cove.

Pictures of the weather to the north of us, you could see patches of heavy
rain.

On the way back to pavement the weather caught up with us and Dave mentioned
his temperature gauge dropped about 30 degrees.
