Here's a few pictures from the Undertaker's Marathon.  Scott and Jack tried to run everything in one day this year. (all of the FJ and TM trails in under 12 hours).

I joined up with them at camp and we headed out to Twisted.

About halfway thru the trail Jack noticed his alternator wasn't charging which put a stop to their efforts.

We towed Jack's rig back to camp and watched the other wheelers filter in from FJ throughout the evening.

By morning the camp had swelled to at least 30 rigs with about half leaving at first light.  Scoot & Jack, myself and the family along with Jim and Sheila from Tucson all headed out to run some trails and spectate.

One of the good spots was on Upper CD.

It was interesting seeing the variety of lines and buggies going up the same fall.

Just past noon we headed up Terminator.

Next up was Annihilator.  Turns out most of the spectators were here and enjoying the show.  Once the word that a couple people had driven the wall people started lining up to give it a try. Chad was the second person I saw attempt it and he grenaded a rear driveshaft on his first try.

After Chad was pulled to the side Scott gave it a go.

After an initial flop to the passenger side he gave it a few more tries before shooting up the face.  The trick seemed to be getting the passenger rear tire to bump up the first couple of rocks, then stay in the gas if the rig was pulling forward.

I was up next and after a few tries the rears hooked up but the front end pulled to far to the left and the next thing I knew I was going for a ride.

We used a pair of winches to flip the rig over as if it were on a rotisserie.  I bumped the starter without the ignition on and it turned over ok so I cranked it and fired up the motor. With no apparent damage and no fluids lost I lined up for another go.

After a few more tries in first gear I finally dropped it in second and got the right bump sending me up and over the top.

Jim was up next and I spotted him up the wall.  One of his attempts he started to roll the same way I did but managed to grab reverse and made a crazy save that had him bouncing around at the bottom of the wall. Later examination showed he tweaked the front of his chassis a bit but it was nothing a little cross bracing would not fix.

Despite Scott's dire predictions Aaron pretty much one shotted the wall! As you can see he makes some pretty entertaining faces when under stress.
