The plan this weekend was to pre-run the Log Corral trail ahead of our clubs spring camping trip.  When I left the house on Sunday morning the weather wasn't looking so hot in the direction we were heading.  I wasn't too worried as some my favorite runs were run in harsh weather which tends to add an extra bit of challenge to things.

By the time we made it to the trailhead (9:30am) and started in the clouds weren't as dark but there was still a constant mist.

I borrowed some of the shots Jay got from the trip, this being one of them.

This was a cool spot just before the rock garden, the water was literally coming out of the side of the hill.

Steve made it thru pretty easily despite being open at both ends.  One of my goals was to access how a stock rig would do, I am thinking extra ground clearance and an experienced driver are needed if you want an easy trip.

Further up the trail Steve slid into the ditch.  My camera doesn't do so well in low light situations and you can see the constant rain captured by the flash.  The picture Jay took on the right makes it look  lot drier than it really was :)  In fact just before this we were getting pounded by hail and rain.

The weather at the lake went from cold and drizzling rain to sunny and warm in the space of a half an hour.

After lunch we played around on some of the mud close by (pictures take by Jay).

We decided to head out towards the dam to see if the water level was low enough to cross.

Turns out it was but finding the road was tough in spots.  In the video you'll notice the creek bed was very slippery as if it were ice.
