Just got back from a 3 day wheeling weekend.  I have a feeling this may have been the last sub 90 degree weekend in the lower desert till fall as the weather was a perfect mid 80 degrees during the day all weekend. The picture above is a panoramic view from camp.

Jack showed up near noon on Friday so we went and ran some easy stuff as well as made our way down to the river to get our feet wet.

By mid afternoon camp was pretty much full.

We led the group down to the river to cool off and then decided to hit a few trails on the way back to camp.

I have yet to make it thru Devil's Backbone at night without someone breaking and the pattern (curse?) held this night when Chad broke a rod end on his lower rear link.  After about an hour of wrenching along with the use of a high lift and a winch we had the rod end replaced and the link re-installed under his rig.

Cary taking one of the optional side.

The notch about midway thru the trail caused a traffic jam.  Everyone eventually made it back to camp around 10pm for a late dinner.

On Saturday everyone headed out to check out a waterfall obstacle.  From what I heard Scott rolled pretty good trying the fall which took the wind out of everyone's sails. I never made it to the trail due to my upper radiator hose popping off and dousing me with hot anti-freeze.  Luckily my son was out of harms way but the loud popping sound still scared him pretty good.   I wouldn't discover the true reason why the hose popped off till later although a loose hose clamp was partially to blame.

After getting all bandaged up we managed to catch a few of the guys heading back to camp to check on us.  We re-grouped and headed down to the water trail which was actually really dry......

..... but still nice and shady.

From there we headed over to Mighty Whitey and caught up with the rest of the group.

This trail just keeps on climbing.

And climbing....

Until you get to the inverted waterfall near the top of the trail.

This obstacle is winch only with the assistance of a pair of wooden ramps.
