We stopped at the Mill Restaurant for a late lunch and were not disappointed with the food.

After lunch we headed up the hill above CK to visit Horsethief Lake.  The last time I was here the lake was more of a puddle, this time there was much more water.

We hiked along the dam and around the lake.

Pictures from the backside of the lake.

The dogs were enjoying the water. After about a half hour of playtime for the dogs we decided it was time to go find a camping spot for the night.  The improved campsites were pretty full so we headed out to find something a little more remote.

This panoramic shows the spot we found with the pictures taken above the fire ring.  This particular spot is situated at 6400 feet in a previously burned area so there were not a lot of tall trees.

Once the sun went down we were greeted with an awesome view of Phoenix and the starts above.

In the morning we cleaned up and headed into town for some breakfast.  None of us were looking forward to heading down the mountain back into the heat of the valley.

Cameron was ready to head home with his latest specimens: 4 horny toad lizards he had caught the previous day.

The lizards in their new habitat.

A few pictures from the drive into town.
