Sometime around mid 2004 Brian sold his
original
Samurai based buggy
and started on a new crawler. This one is based off of a Diablo 2 seater
chassis built by
Shaffer's Offroad. The chassis was picked up in October and is
constructed primarily with 1.50 DOM tubing and included front and rear link
mounts.

By December Brian had most of the magor
components on hand so he could start fitting everything into the chassis.
The drivetrain consists of a V6/Auto/Atlas transfer case which will send power
to a pair of narrowed Dana 60 axles. Both the front and rear axles will
steer.

The biggest challenge so far has been squeezing
everything into the chassis.

The
buggy was completed in early 2005. Brian is still working on the body
panels but had the narrowed cruiser hood and custom fenders installed for our
Labor Day trip.
